Our Mission:
The Finding Common Ground Movement was formed to create a better future for America by challenging political polarization in our country and choosing to work together.
We aim to do this by encouraging voters to support candidates committed to cooperation, uplifting groups and voices that foster unity, and creating opportunities for neighbors to connect and build understanding beyond politics.
Our Values:
Every person has Inherent Value and deserves to be heard, regardless of their circumstances.
Curiosity - Wanting to learn about others and their experiences without passing judgement or alienating them.
Respect - We are all Americans, we all have the right to vote for whatever party we want to, and to hold our own beliefs. We don’t have to take on another’s point of view and values, but we need to hold respect for their right to have them.
Non-violence - We are a peaceful movement and do not condone violence of any sort. We also do not condone violent speech of any kind. In light of recent events, we take the stance that: When we kill political figures we disagree with, we are the ones killing our democracy.
Inclusivity - Diversity is what makes our country beautiful. No one will be made to feel lesser than because of their background or identity. This includes, but is not limited to: race, religion, political party, gender, sexuality, economic status, education, and age.
